Wills For Heroes

One new addition to today's Day of Action did not involve painting, cleaning or heavy lifting, but it did involve providing some assistance to local heroes. A group of local attorneys volunteered their time and knowledge today for the Wills for Heroes program. The group set up shop at the Gadsden Fire Department Station Number 2 and offered free help to firefighters, police and other first responders who needed to draw up wills and advance directives for healthcare or who just needed to review their estate planning paperwork. The Wills for Heroes program was started in the wake of the September 11th terrorists attacks and spread quickly throughout the country. Gadsden Firefighter Britt Dove and his wife took advantage of today's free event. Dove says that he already had a will in place, but with the growth of his family over the past few years, he needed to look at making some changes. He says he is very grateful to the local attorneys who participated and volunteered their time.
