It's been a few years since Dre Kirkpatrick made highlights at Titan Stadium, but he's never forgotten about his roots in Gadsden. The former GCHS Titan and Alabama Crimson Tide star was back in Etowah County over the weekend to host his youth football camp. More than 300 kids learned the fundamentals from Kirkpatrick and other former Gadsden City players. For Dre, the 21 Kids Foundation helps serve his mission to improve the community.
After the fun of youth camp, it's back to business for Kirkpatrick. Dre returns to Cincinnati for the Bengals mini camp which begins Tuesday. He's currently making a strong case to be the starting cornerback heading into the 2015-16 season. Kirkpatrick finished last season on a very strong note with a interception on Johnny Manziel (Browns) and two picks on Peyton Manning (Broncos) in two of the final three games. Kirkpatrick and the Bengals start training camp July 24th. Cincinnati's first preseason game is August 14th against the New York Giants.
