A memorial ceremony to memorialize Krissie K. Davis, an employee of D-L-A Disposition Services, who was killed in Afghanistan while in service to her country took place at the Anniston Army Depot's Physical Fitness Center. Davis' family also held a press conference to speak with members of the media. Davis’ husband, Michael Davis and her daughter, Angela Mitchell spoke of the great faith they had together, the hope Davis continually expressed, and the fortunate memories of the time they had with her. Davis was a property disposal specialist and was the first deployed D-L-A Disposition Services civilian lost to combat-related injuries. D-L-A Disposition Services Area Manager Rufus Guillory was Davis’ boss for the past year. Davis was a 22-year Defense Logistics Agency employee and member of the D-L-A Disposition Services at Anniston, she was killed June 8 during an indirect fire attack on Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan, while serving her second deployment as a Civilian Expeditionary Workforce volunteer.
