Gadsden State Hosts a Workforce Development Partnership Meeting

Gadsden State Community College and the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce host a Workforce Development Partnership Meeting. The meeting took place in the Computer Science Auditorium on the Ayers Campus. The meeting was open to invited guests and included members of Calhoun County’s city councils, boards of education and county commission. Gadsden State Community College Interim President Martha Lavender says today’s activities were about helping to build the community for the future. Anniston Mayor Vaughn Stewart kicked-off the event by welcoming attendees and reviewing the meeting’s objectives. There was a panel discussion with Alabama State Superintendent Dr. Tommy Bice, the Alabama Secretary of Commerce Greg Canfield, and a host of other state and local leaders. Senate President pro tem Senator Del Marsh was also a panelist. Gadsden State Community College has 6 locations and 8 programs where students can earn an academic degree or a certificate.
