Tasers with Cameras to be Used by Cherokee County Sheriffs
A local sheriff’s office receives some new equipment to help greatly reduce the use of lethal devices. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office recently purchased several new Tasers equipped with video cameras with funding provided by Commissioner Marci Foster. The Tasers can record all deployments of the device. Officials say the non-lethal devices will reduce the number of injuries to officers and suspects. Officer Steve Street, a Taser instructor with the Sheriff’s Office helped to acquire the new Tasers.
