The Calhoun County E-911 holds a special-called meeting of the E-911 board and does not publicly address the arrest of its current director, although Kevin Jenkins was in attendance. The parties went into executive session shortly after the meeting was called to order, and all onlookers had to leave the room. According to reports, the executive session concerned Calhoun County E-911 Director, Kevin Jenkins, who got arrested for carrying a firearm into the Hartsfield-Jackson International Atlanta Airport without a current, valid weapon’s permit. Calhoun County E-911 Chairman Mike Fincher read a statement at the meeting. Jenkins was charged for carrying the loaded firearm on June 28th. According to the Atlanta police report, the firearm was a .380 Smith and Wesson and was noticed by T-S-A security agents when Jenkins carry-on bag was being scanned with an x-ray machine. Jenkins was arrested by the Atlanta Police and booked. He bonded out on June 28th.
