Ohatchee Man Shoots Himself During an Unannounced Check


An Ohatchee man shoots himself in the leg during an unannounced check by Calhoun County Sheriff’s Deputies. According to Calhoun County Sheriff Chief Deputy Matthew Wade, 64-year-old Kenneth Kilgore of Rock Springs could face a weapons charge. He is a registered sex offender and authorities were checking to make sure he was complying with reporting laws. Kilgore shot himself in the calf after putting the pistol in his pocket to remove it from the view of Deputies. He was being treated at a local hospital this morning. Kilgore pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree sodomy in 2005.
