Calhoun County Commission Chooses to Revitalize Woodland Park

Saturday, July 11, 2015

The Calhoun County Commission is working on revitalizing Woodland Park. Calhoun County Commissioner Tim Hodges says the park does need some infrastructure work.  But, they have started cleaning it up and are doing some landscaping. Hodges adds that the park is a joint project for the commission and that it’s a first class facility with good amenities.  He says it has more use than just for softball and looks forward to seeing the plans they have for it completed. The land is a total of 60 acres.  Hodges says they plan to include a walking track around it and the Sheriff’s Department will operate an inmate garden.  Woodland Park will be functional within the next month or so. They are finishing work on the lights, scoreboard, and irrigation.
