Pet Ready Travel Tips
Summer travels requires pet owners to not only prepare for themselves but also plan a road trip with the family pet. Experts say before you and your pet hit the road, make sure your vehicle is both pet ready and road ready. Clanton Animal Hospital owner Dr. Eric Clanton suggests that you take steps to keep your pet safe and conduct a pre-trip vehicle inspection, so you can have an enjoyable, low-stress trip with your pet in tow. Dr. Clanton says to visit pet friendly areas as you travel. And, if your pet can’t travel to have your pet boarded somewhere. He adds that some pets do not travel very well and need sedatives.
