Egg Prices Jump

No doubt, you’ve noticed at the grocery story – Egg prices have made a record jump. The U-S Department of Labor says the price for chicken eggs climbed a whopping 84-percent from May to June. That’s the biggest single-month increase ever recorded. For example, the U-S Agriculture Department says the average retail price for a carton of eggs in New York was two dollars, 49 cents in June. That’s more than double the cost of a month earlier. Soaring prices are blamed on Avian Flu. The disease has led to the deaths of nearly 50-million chickens and turkeys at American farms.
