A rally to support the display of the Christian flag at a local city hall brings together more than a hundred people. The rally took place Saturday night in front of the Glencoe City Hall. The rally was inspired by the city taking down the Christian flag that had been flying in front of the Glencoe Police Department since the late 1990’s. Alabama District 10 Senator Phil Williams was in attendance and he says he showed up because he simply loves the Lord. Mayor Charles Gilchrist made the decision to bring the flag down after the Freedom from Religion Foundation sent a letter to the city complaining about the flag being flown on city property. The Etowah County Chapter of First Responders for Christ assisted in the organizing of the rally.
