A Dekalb County man impersonates a constable and is caught with guns, handcuffs, and a handheld radio in his Tahoe. According to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin, 43-year-old David Combs of Fyffe was arrested and charged for impersonating a law enforcement officer. He is charged with one count of impersonating a peace officer, which is a felony. A Sheriff’s Officer saw Comb’s white SUV driving down Rainbow Drive with blue lights on yesterday afternoon. The officer followed up behind and noticed the vehicle had a handicap license plate. The officer then made a traffic stop on Comb’s Tahoe. He asked Combs where he was going and what agency he was affiliated with. Combs stated he was going to a wreck. There was no wreck on Rainbow Drive at the time of the incident. Combs was dressed in a black t-shirt with the word Police on it. Dekalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris confirmed he was not a constable and did not have any authority in the County. Combs is currently detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $2,500 property bond.
