Gadsden Attorney Recommended as new D.A.
The Etowah County Republican Executive Committee has decided on its recommendation to fill the District Attorney’s office in Etowah County. The group held a meeting late this evening and voted to recommend Gadsden attorney Jody Willoughby for the office that was left vacant by last week’s death of District Attorney Jimmie Harp. Willoughby is an Etowah County native who graduated from Southside HS in 1999. He attended law school at Faulkner University’s Jones School of Law and has been in private practice ever since. Willoughby’s name will be submitted to Governor Robert Bentley for consideration. The governor has the responsibility of appointing someone to fill Harp’s unexpired term.
