The Anniston Community Education Foundation hosts its 5th annual Family Summit and school supply drive to aid at-risk students within Calhoun County and the surrounding areas. Today, the agency and Randolph Park Elementary came together to assemble back-to school supply bags that will be given away at the event on August 8th. Since the conception of this event, ACEF has served and provided school supplies to more than 2000 students. Officials say they are excited to provide this service again. At this year’s event, students in grades 1st through 6th will explore and expand their knowledge by engaging in STEM focused hands on experiments. Officials say these experiments will enlighten and provide students with more insight into subjects areas such as science, technology, engineering and math. The Family Summit will be held at the Anniston City Meeting Center on August 8th from 9am to 1pm. They are expecting more than 300 students to attend.
