Food Outlet Closing in Jacksonville
The Food Outlet grocery operating in Jacksonville will be closing in the next two or three months. According to President of Discount Foods- the parent company of the grocery store, Trae Fite, the store is closing because business has been flat at the store and it has not been able to generate a profit. He also says utilities and rent have both gone up in the last two to three years. Fite says they just don’t have enough money to support operating expenses. The 15 or more employees will be helped to find positions within the rest of the company. Fite says they have appreciated the 27-year loyalty Jacksonville customers have shown. He says they will use the resources from the closing of the store for the rest of the business. Fite adds that the company is very sad, yet hopeful about the future.
