A Gadsden woman faces the charge of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced, or distributed. Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin says 26 year old Ashley Edwards of Gadsden has been arrested for chemical endangerment of a child.  She was arrested Tuesday and tested positive for amphetamines and admitted to taking Roxycontin and Soboxone while pregnant.  She is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $10,000 property bond. Upon release, Edwards will be supervised by Etowah County Community Corrections and must successfully complete a treatment program.  This case is also under investigation through Etowah County DHR.
