Mogil Found Guilty of Aggravated Animal Cruelty

A Calhoun County jury finds former Damn Yankees owner Dave Mogil guilty of aggravated animal cruelty. According to Calhoun Cleburne Assistant District Attorney Randy Moeller, the jury had to come to a unanimous decision to declare the verdict. Moeller says the jury deliberated for 1 hour in Circuit Court Judge Debra Jones’ courtroom. The sentencing hearing will be September 1st at 930 AM. The conviction is a Class C felony which means Mogil could be sentenced to 1 year and 1 day in prison up to 10 years. Moeller says Mogil had 8 to 12 supporters in the courtroom each day and the victim had only a few every day.
