Alabama lawmakers end a special session without a budget as a political gap widens between Republicans in the state House of Representatives and Senate. Today was the final day of the special session. Legislators spent part of the day squabbling over bills that died or that lawmakers are trying get passed on the last day. The House on Monday voted down Senate-passed budget cuts by an overwhelming 92 to 2 vote. House Speaker Mike Hubbard says he is urging Governor Robert Bentley to give lawmakers some time to work out an agreement before calling a second special session.
