Airline Complaints Climb 20%
According to a Department of Transportation report out today, airline complaints soared in the first half of 2015. Passenger gripes were up 20-percent compared with the same period last year. Airfare complaints nearly tripled, jumping from fewer than 300 in the first half of 2014 to 870 this year. Delays and cancellations were the biggest grievances. Those complaints rose 15-percent, even though the number of delays and cancellations actually fell during the first half of 2015. The report gave Spirit Airlines the worst customer satisfaction rating. According to the report, the happiest flyers, were Southwest passengers.
