Governor Appoints Etowah County District Attorney

Willoughby will fulfill the un-expired term of Jimmie Harp, who served nearly two terms as D.A. for the people of Etowah County. Harp passed away on July 22, due to cancer. Willoughby will serve as the District Attorney for the 16th Judicial Circuit, which includes Etowah County. He inherits a crowded and challenging docket that has several critical capital cases to be tried. Willoughby is an Etowah County native graduating from Southside High School in 1999. He attended law school at Faulkner University - Jones School of Law in Montgomery and has been in private law practice in Gadsden ever since. Willoughby will have to run for election to a full term in 2016.
