Coldwater Mountain Bike Trail Rescue

A cyclist is rescued from a local mountain bike trail in an hour-and-a-half rescue effort. Coldwater Mountain Bike Trail Response and Rescue and three Anniston Fire Department units were dispatched Sunday morning to a bicycle accident at the Coldwater Mountain Bike Trail. The rescue team was comprised of the Mountain Bike Trail Response unit, the Rescue 1 and a command vehicle. They also used ATVs.  The incident took place at the Anniston trailhead on Monsanto Road. Crews quickly made contact with the person inured in the incident and assessed, packaged, and extracted them from the trails. Due to injuries sustained, the person was air lifted by Lifesaver air medical transport from a landing zone established on Alabama Highway 202. Anniston Fire personnel were assisted by Anniston EMS personnel with care transfer of the injured person to air flight medics.
