Donny Putman is Charged with 2nd Degree Possession of a Forged Instrument


An Etowah County man was arrested and charged in connection to the theft of a box of personal checks. Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin says 36-year-old Donny Putman of Altoona, was arrested August 13, and is charged with one count of second degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony. Putman is believed to have forged and cashed a check for more than $480 at a local bank. He also cashed three additional forged checks at a store in Oneonta. Putman was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on a $2,500 property bond.
