Two Charged With Trafficking Illegal Drugs


A consent to search a vehicle by Dekalb County Sheriff’s Deputies results in the seizure of a large quantity of drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine, marijuana, and spice. According to the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old William Duke of Albertville and 25-year-old Cortney Hillis of Oxford were passed out and sitting in a vehicle on County Road 50 in the Grove Oak area when Deputies approached the vehicle and saw a hand gun in plain view. Deputies discovered that the serial numbers on the gun had been altered and seized the gun. With a further search drugs were uncovered. The Dekalb County Drug Task Force was called to the scene and Duke and Hillis were arrested and charged with multiple drug possession charges and Trafficking Illegal Drug. They are both being held in the Dekalb County Detention Center.
