Man Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Gadsden


A man is accused of trafficking methamphetamine and possession of marijuana in Gadsden. Drug Enforcement Unit Commander Rob Savage says 47-year-old James Harris is charged with drug trafficking and 1st Degree possession of marijuana after being stopped at Henry and Harvey streets by officers. The officers smelled marijuana in the vehicle he was in, got consent to search it and found three ounces of methamphetamine, Ecstacy, and a 40-caliber semi-automatic handgun. Harris is being held without bond in the Etowah County Detention Center. Savage says additional charges may follow.
