Blue Bell Creameries resumes selling its products in select locations today, four months after the Texas-based retailer halted sales due to listeria contamination. The ice cream being delivered today is from Blue Bell’s Sylacauga Creamery. That creamery has been making and testing the ice cream since July. The ice cream is now available at stores in the Birmingham-metro, Houston and Austin areas, including in the company's hometown of Brenham. The company released four flavors today: Cookies and Cream, Great Divide, Homemade Vanilla, and Dutch Chocolate. The company voluntarily recalled its products in April after they were linked to 10 listeria cases in four states, including three deaths in Kansas. The Sylacauga facility is the only Blue Bell Creamery to reopen since the Listeria outbreak back in April. Production plants in Texas, Oklahoma and Alabama underwent an extensive cleaning and decontamination, under the regulatory oversight of health officials.
