Two-Vehicle Crash Claims Life


A crash that took place four miles north of Oxford claims the life of a Georgia man. The two-vehicle crash took place nearly 15 minutes after 12 noon on Saturday. 28-year-old James Column Thompson of Stone Mountain was killed when his Hyundai Accent in which he was driving collided head-on with a Nissan Rogue driven by 23-year-old Daniel Studdard of Piedmont. Thompson died at the scene and his passenger, 39-year-old Lance Hagan of Anniston was transported to an Anniston hospital. Studdard was transported to UAB hospital in Birmingham. The accident is still under investigation.
