JSU Senior RB Troymaine Pope Embraces His Journey

Jacksonville State is hoping for a big season on the gridiron, and senior running back Troymaine Pope will be a large part of that. The former Anniston High School star enters his senior season as the team's featured back. His journey to this moment began on the fields at Lott-Mosby Memorial Stadium as a star for the Bulldogs. After rushing for more than a combined 4,400 yards as a prep star, he joined the Gamecocks backfield. He's split the time with All-OVC performer DeMarcus James for the large part of three seasons, but now he is embracing his role as the go-to guy.

In the featured video, we chronicled his run from Anniston High School to what he hopes is an FCS national championship season at JSU.
