Woman Indicted on Murder Charge

An Anniston woman is indicted for murder in connection with a shooting incident that took place in May of last year. Pamela Smith was indicted by a Calhoun County Grand Jury on the charge of Murder in connection with the shooting incident, which claimed the life of Casey Payne. Smith is accused of shooting Payne with a shotgun following an argument. A manslaughter charge was filed nearly four months after the incident, and Smith was later released on bond of $50,000. Another warrant was issued for her arrest following the murder indictment, and  Smith is now being held in the Calhoun County Detention Center without bond awaiting an arraignment hearing which has been set for September 24th at 9:00 a.m.

The Oxford Police Department is asking for your help in identifying the person in this photo taken in connection with a theft that occurred at an Exxon gas station.
