Cherokee County authorities arrest four northwest Georgia residents during the early morning hours of Thursday. They were charged with Attempting to Elude. The four are accused of being involved in a high-speed chase in Georgia, before fleeing into Cherokee County shortly after midnight. Those taken into custody include 31-year-old Shannon Couzzort, 27-year-old Heather Jordan, 25-year-old Kayla Edgeworth, all of Rome, Georgia; and 25-year-old Kansas Gravitt of Waleska, Georgia. A Cherokee County Deputy responded and pursued their vehicle onto Highway 35 where the driver crashed the vehicle into a ditch at which point all four occupants bailed out and attempted to flee on foot. They are currently being held for authorities in Chattooga County, Georgia and upon return will face charges there.
