Suit Filed Against Riverview Regional Medical Center

Two elderly women who were patients a Riverview Regional Medical Center in May where it is believed they were  subjected to sexual contact inside their rooms have filed suit against the hospital. The suit, filed Tuesday in Etowah County Circuit Court, alleges negligence and seeks compensation and punitive damages. 29 year old Christopher Lewis was arrested in May in Escambia County, Florida on burglary and theft charges and was charged with two counts of first degree sexual abuse in connection with the incident. In a statement from Riverview Regional Medical Center they claim: “Riverview Regional Medical Center has currently been working with the appropriate authorities on the alleged reports and takes the safety of our patients, staff, and community quite seriously. Our hospital is constantly looking at means to further improve patient satisfaction and security, and will continue to strive to provide the best patient care possible.”
