Authorities arrest two more suspects in connection with a Gaylesville home invasion. According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, the Cherokee County Major Crimes Unit has charged two more individuals in connection with a home invasion that occurred in July, during which a woman was assaulted and several items of her property were stolen. The United States Marshall Service located and arrested 34-year-old Courtney Steele of Cedar Bluff and 41-year-old Scott Miller of Fort Payne. Just hours after the crime occurred, the two suspects quickly fled to New York. When investigators learned of their whereabouts, they contacted the United States Marshall Service for assistance in their apprehension. The suspects were then transported back to Alabama. Steele and Miller were booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center on Wednesday on charges of first degree robbery. On the night of the home invasion and robbery, 24-year-old Jeffery Epps of Gaylesville and 27-year-old Brandie Webb of Fyffe, were arrested and charged with first degree robbery and second degree assault. Epps remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center, and Webb is out on bond awaiting trial.
