There are now fewer places to get your driver’s license in Alabama. 31 satellite driver’s license Offices across the State shut down effective today. 3 East Alabama Offices will be shut down as a result of reductions the locations are in Center, Heflin and Ashland. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says in a release, Each of the satellite Offices are part-time and not owned by the State. Traveling drivers license examiners will be relocated to full-time staff at district license Offices. The locations of ALEA drivers license Offices are available online. Replacing your drivers license and ID card can still be done online. The closings are all due to an 11 million dollar cut to the budget for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
