Congressman Celebrates New Legislation
An Alabama congressman celebrates new legislation today. East Alabama Congressman Mike Rogers attended a conference in Washington today where the House of Representatives voted to pass the National Defense Authorization Act. The act authorizes additional funding for the department of defense and will allow the army to transfer surplus vintage firearms to the civilian marksmanship programs where collectors will get the opportunity to own some of these vintage weapons, an amendment already proposed by Rogers. The act also prohibits furloughs at working capital fund facilities like the Anniston Army Depot. Rogers says that he is proud that the act passed with his strong support.
