Two Wrecks in Cherokee County

Alabama State Troopers worked two separate, single vehicle accidents involving injuries, in Cherokee County. According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident reports, the first wreck took place on Sunday at 3:00am on Highway 278, approximately one mile east of Piedmont – and involved a Jeep being driven by 42-year-old Mindy Cook of Cedartown, Georgia. Cook was listed on the report as being injured in the crash, although no additional information was available other than she was wearing her seatbelt. The second accident also took place on Sunday and involved a Peterbilt being driven by 58-year-old Texas resident, Dennis Stanford.  Reports indicate that he received injuries in that accident on Highway 9.  Both accidents remain under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
