An Anniston man surrenders to Oxford police after an argument with his girlfriend leads to a standoff with officers. According to Captain L.G. Owens of the Oxford Police Department, officers took 57-year-old Donald Reese into custody this morning after a 7-and-a-half hour standoff. It all started at about 11:00 last night when Reese refused to leave his girlfriend's home on Jason Drive after a heated argument. The woman managed to get out of her home and to a neighbor's house to call for help.  She told officers that Reese had a hunting rifle and threatened her. Police say after the man surrendered- they did find a rifle inside the home. Reese was eligible to post a $1,000 bond after a 12 hour hold in the city jail. He's scheduled to appear in court on a domestic violence charge on November 10.
