Calhoun County Commission Meeting

The Calhoun County Commission accepts the deed for Mclellan’s Piney Wood Chapel from the McClellan Development Authority. At today’s commission meeting they also approved $50,000 to begin restoration work. Commissioner Hodges says they are going to continue to meet and see what other resources they have. He says there are three primary goals for the chapel. First, they will have to attach a new roof. Secondly, they will work on repairing the interior floor. And thirdly, they will give the chapel a new paint job. The commission also confirmed that the Calhoun County Sports Complex has leased 19 dates with Freedom Sports for softball tournaments in 2016.
