Alabama Power Foundation Awards Gateway Grant

The Alabama Power Foundation awards a Gateway Grant to the city of Oxford. The grant will help provide funding for materials for a new brick sign welcoming visitors into historic downtown Oxford. Oxford Grants Manager Aaron Sexton says the sign will be up in the next couple of months. According to Alabama Power Spokesperson Jacki Lowry, the Gateway program is in its fourth year and has awarded nearly $200,000 through almost 100 grants. The Alabama Power Foundation has awarded more than $60,000 in 33 2015 Gateway Grants. Local communities and groups receiving this year’s grants also include: Glencoe, Heflin, Hokes Bluff, and Piedmont.
