Neighborhood Disturbance Ends with One Dead

A disturbance between neighbors on County Road 534 in Crossville turns violent and results in a death. According to DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris a deputy and a police officer were called to the home for a fight between neighbors. Authorities arrived and found 46-year-old Burlin Pritchett of Crossville with a weapon. They ordered Pritchett to put down the weapon and he did. A witness on the scene told police that 47-year-old Michael Chapman of Crossville had been shot. Officials located Chapman’s body and secured the scene. Pritchett has been charged with Murder and is being held in the Dekalb County Detention Center. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
