Leadership Calhoun County Media Day
An organization designed to prepare and build upon leadership resources within Calhoun County participates in its annual Media Day Event by announcing its annual class project. 24 members of Leadership Calhoun County announced that they have partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Calhoun County to renovate a house on 11th Street in Anniston. Members say they will be doing the demolition and the renovation. Class Spokesperson Patrick Adams says the project should take several months. He adds that they are putting the plan in place and are adding tasks. He says they hope to begin in the next couple of weeks. Habitat for Humanity of Calhoun County Executive Director Chip Howell admits that the two organizations share a focus on seeing their local community thrive. Howell adds that Habitat For Humanity brings people together to build homes, community, and hope. He says the agency welcomes LCC’s volunteerism. LCC also learned about local print, digital, and broadcast media, today. Part of their real world experience was a visit to the TV24 station. LCC is a program of the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce.
