An Oxford High School Senior is dead after a shooting in Anniston and one man is in jail. Anniston Police were called to the 1200 Block of West 16th Street about shots fired in the area on Friday. They say they found 17-year-old Broderick Taylor II unconscious with a gunshot wound to the chest. According to investigators and witnesses it all began when Taylor was involved in a fight with 24-year-old Jerald Bailey of Anniston. Baily fired one shot from a gun at Taylor and hit him in the chest. Investigators say Taylor was unarmed. Police say Bailey ran away from the scene and authorities searched for Bailey for several hours before he turned himself in at the Anniston Police Department.
According to Oxford High School Principal Christopher Cox, today counselors are helping students cope with the death of Taylor. He says Taylor was a good-natured young man.
Bailey is charged with Murder and has a $100,000 bond.
