Patriots Day

Thursday, November 5, 2015

Today was a patriotic day in one East Alabama city. Residents of Gadsden and Etowah County celebrated veterans and patriots today with a luncheon and a parade in Downtown Gadsden. The day started with the 41st Annual Patriots Day Luncheon presented by the Gadsden-Etowah Patriots Association. The yearly luncheon pays tribute to local citizens who exhibit patriotism in their service to the local community and the country. Today's luncheon featured music from the Gadsden State Show Choir and saw 11 new members inducted into the Patriots Hall of Honor. Today's Patriots Day events were topped off with a Veterans Parade on Broad Street in Downtown Gadsden. After a 2-year hiatus, the re-organized parade drew a large number of entries and a large crowd of spectators all for the purpose of honoring the men and women of Etowah County who have served in our armed forces.
