Veterans Day is an excellent occasion for schools and local communities to participate in a variety of meaningful presentations. Today, Anniston Middle School’s Veterans Day program included participation by veterans organizations and other patriotic groups to enhance the activities of the day. Also in attendance was school alumni with distinguished military service. Staff Sergeant Antron Pope attended Anniston Middle School from 1993 until 1995. He served as the special guest speaker at the event.  He says it’s a pleasure to be at his old school. Anniston Middle School Principal Kimberly Garrick who served in the military for 24 years says today’s program focused on how we can never fully repay our debt of gratitude to the American service members who have died in battle or those who have been wounded. Today’s celebration served to recognize and thank the more than 25 million veterans still living today.
