Saks Elementary School Veterans Day Program

Throughout this Nation’s history, America’s soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and coastguardsmen have bravely answered the call to defend our freedom, to aid our friends and allies, and to turn back aggressors. Today, Saks Elementary School third graders recognize veterans at their first annual Veterans Day program. Saks Elementary School student Zoye Blair who has a family member who is a veteran says why today is so important to her. The school also recognized faculty members who are veterans. Teacher Audrey Kincer served in the National Guard. She says if makes her feel proud to have served her country. She adds that she sees Veterans Day as a day to thank all the other veterans. She says today’s events are special. Students also handed out handmade thank-you cards to the veterans. The program included dignitaries selected as special guests that were made up of school officials and veterans from the community who represented different periods of service.
