School year 2015 through 2016 marks the first year that the White Plains High School graduating class has had 100-percent student participation in College Application Week.Alabama State Superintendent Dr. Tommy Bice declared November 2nd through November 6th College Application Week. White Plains High School Guidance Counselor Angela Forbus says 100-percent participation has been a goal for quite a while. She says they concentrated efforts to make sure that each and every student has an opportunity to apply to college, which will then lead to them going on to college. White Plains School Seniors say years of their faculty pushing students to maintain a college-ready attitude has helped them prepare for the future. Forbus says our kids are hearing about college from the first day they enroll in the high school all the way to when they graduate. The school will be hosting a FAFSA night in February.
