The State Historical Records Advisory Board recently awarded $35,000 in regrants to local governments or other local historical entities. Nineteen applications out of 24 received full or partial funding. Several regional association projects were funded:
The Cherokee County Historical Museum was given more than $2,500 for the preservation of court records held by the museum and archival supplies and shelving, the DeKalb County Genealogical Society received more than $2,000 to purchase computers, shelving, archival supplies, and other cataloging necessities, and the Oxford Public Library received $2,000 to fund the purchase of archival supplies to be employed in a project in the library’s Oxford Room. Funds for the awards were provided by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission State Board Programming Grant.
