Four people are in jail in connection to a recent burglary in Etowah County. According to Sheriff Todd Entrekin, 27-year-old Ace Belcher, 34-year-old Randy Mabe, 29-year-old Erica Hicks all of Altoona, and 38-year-old August Tanner of Boaz, are each charged with one count of third degree burglary, one count of second degree theft of property and one count of possession of burglary tools. Belcher, Mabe and Tanner are believed to have broken into a residence located on Mayo Road in Altoona, on Saturday. The home owner pulled into the driveway and witnessed three men climbing out of a bedroom window. Mabe and Tanner were able to escape in a vehicle that was driven by Hicks. Belcher was held at gun point, by the home owner’s boyfriend, until deputies arrived at the scene. An Altoona Police Officer spotted the getaway vehicle less than a mile from the incident while responding to the area. Property taken from the residence, valued at more than $1,000, was found inside the vehicle. It has been returned to the rightful owner. All four suspects were booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on $7,500 bond each.
