The Oxford City school Board calls a special called early morning meeting to dedicate their Professional Development Lab in honor of an employee who has served the Oxford City School District like none other for more than four decades. Oxford City Schools Director of Human Resources Deborah Nothdurft has held many positions within the school system. She’s been their student, a math teacher, an Assistant Principal and Principal of Oxford Middle School, and is now the Personnel Director and Professional Development Director for the school system. She has spent 44 calendar years with the school district and says now it is time for retirement. The school system has dedicated their Professional Development Lab to her. Nothdurft says that when she got her start in 1972 she did not now that the school system would see so many changes. Superintendent Jeff Goodwin has served Oxford City Schools for more than 10 years and has known Nothdurft for 20 years. He says that she has given the school district’s employees the best opportunities for growth and that kind of work has always benefitted the children. School Board President Pat Wayne Shaddix has known Nothdurft throughout all of her transitions and says her work and dedication has been truly appreciated. Nothdurft will officially retire January 1st 2016.
