The Family Career Community Leaders of America hosts its second annual rally at Hill Crest Baptist Church in Saks. More than 115 students attended the event. The rally is to promote and unite the Calhoun County FCCLA Chapters and to enhance leadership and personal development. White Plains High School Family and Consumer Science teacher Jennifer Bryant says the day was full of activities. The students were also talked to by a JSU law enforcement officer who discussed active shooter situations and how students should react to them. The beef cook-off winners are: for Senior High First Place, Kelsea Lloyd of White Plains High School, Second Place is Brianna Putman of Pleasant Valley, and Junior High First Place is Travis Atchley of Pleasant Valley.
