Volunteers Needed for Community Thanksgiving Celebration

Organizers of an annual community Thanksgiving luncheon are in need of volunteers. The 17th Annual CommUnity Thanksgiving Celebration is set for Thanksgiving Day in Gadsden and organizers are worried that volunteers are in short supply this year. The yearly celebration provides a free Thanksgiving meal for more than four thousand people and requires around a thousand volunteers to make it happen. Monetary donations are also down this year. The CommUnity Thanksgiving Celebration will be held at Convention Hall in Gadsden from 10:30am until 2pm on Thanksgiving Day. To volunteer or to make a donation, dial 2-1-1 for First Call for Help or call the United Way of Etowah County at 256.546.4357. A donation of as little as $25 can help provide 10 Thanksgiving meals that day.
