More Mexicans Leaving U.S.
The flow of immigration from Mexico to the United States appears to be reversing.
A Pew Research Center report finds more Mexicans are now departing South- Than immigrants coming in. The study found about one million Mexicans and their families left the US for Mexico from 2009 to 2014. For the same period, about 870-thousand Mexicans entered the US. Researchers say tougher immigration laws, a sharp increase in deportations, and family ties are the likely cause. Even with more deportations, the Pew Study found most Mexicans who returned home did so on their own.
